Compassionate God, you gave Mary the grace to share in the passion and suffering of Jesus at the foot of the cross. With her we pray: Show us your mercy, O God.

Deepen the gifts of compassion, contemplation, and charity in your Church.

Show us your mercy, O God.

Help us to end practices of execution and torture.

Show us your mercy, O God.

Free those who are held hostage or captive.

Show us your mercy, O God.

Our Father . . .

May God strengthen us to share in the sufferings of Christ, so that we may rejoice when his glory is revealed. Amen.
