Holy God, we celebrate the holy and joyful encounter you inspired between Mary and Elizabeth. Enliven us by that same spirit as we pray: God of our joy, hear our prayer.

Help us to believe in your salvation and to proclaim the greatness of your name through the gifts you have given to us.

God of our joy, hear our prayer.

Free those who experience oppression or unjust treatment of any kind.

God of our joy, hear our prayer.

Give support and peace to pregnant women and mothers of young children.

God of our joy, hear our prayer.

Our Father . . .

May the Holy Spirit enlighten us to recognize Christ’s hidden presence so that we, like Mary, may rejoice in God’s saving power all our days. Amen.
